AlKemist Gravel Fest

The AlKemist Gravel Fest was first brewed up in 2018 after exploring some of the most rugged and rewarding gravel roads in Morton County, North Dakota. Now it’s one of the region’s most anticipated fall gravel races — bringing together cyclists who crave challenge, community, and an unbeatable view.
Start your adventure at Graner Park / Sugarloaf Bottoms, just south of Mandan, ND, where you’ll climb out of the Missouri River Valley and onto the bluffs of Morton County. Every mile serves up fast descents, minimum-maintenance roads, and some of the longest climbs in the region — all balanced by wide-open prairie skies and unforgettable scenery.
When the dust settles, join us for post-race awards, hot food fresh off the grill, and a celebration worthy of the miles you’ve conquered.


Race Options
🧪 The AlKemist — 55 Miles
A full-bodied gravel challenge. This course blends endurance, grit, and flow across the county’s toughest terrain — the ultimate test of your gravel game.

⚗️ The Elixir — 30 Miles
A smoother pour for those seeking a shorter but still adventurous route. Expect fast rollers, scenic stretches, and a true gravel experience from start to finish.
E-Bike Friendly: E-bikes are welcome to ride either distance (not eligible for podium awards). Simply indicate e-bike use during registration.
 
Registration Includes:
• Chip Timing for both distances
• On-course Aid Station
• Finishers patch for everyone that crosses the finish line
• Complimentary meal ticket to use at the food vendor after the race
• Complimentary post-race drink 
 
Camping & Weekend Details
Stay where the adventure starts! Camping is available at the Graner/Sugarloaf Bottoms Start/Finish area. You can find additional camping information here.
 
Packet Pickup will be held at 701 Cycle & Sport on Friday, October 2nd from 3-6pm and at Graner/Sugarloaf Bottoms on race day starting at 8:30am. Event shirts can be purchased through the race website. Deadline to purchase event shirts is September 17th.
