About this event

A bucket-list race in the mountains of North Georgia, the Currahee gravel grinder explores the southeastern edge of the Chattahoochee National Forest. The 34-mile race route highlights pristine forest service roads with amazing views of the surrounding area. As you journey along the beginning of the route, the 1900’ Currahee Mountain stands in the distance taunting you. At the base of Currahee Mountain sits Camp Toccoa, where American paratroopers trained for WW2 air raids. (That camp, and this mountain, is featured in the movie Band of Brothers; you’ll climb the road filmed in the opening scene.)

2024 Chainbuster Assault on Currahee Mountain - Long PREFERRED ROUTE

Due to the change in venue, we have had to re-submit our course from the new start/finish area. This is our preferred route which includes a new portion of gravel road at the end of the course. If the preferred (extended) route is not approved, we will use the alternate route. As always, routes are not final until two weeks before the race and could be shortened due to weather when mandated by the USFS.
