About this event

The 9th Annual Dirt Diggler Gravel Grinder hits Transylvania County this fall! Starting and finishing at the REEB Ranch, this gravel bike race will feature a backcountry/gravel road tour through some of the best kept secrets in Western North Carolina. It meanders through DuPont State Forest, gated private property, and ends on 2 miles of singletrack. Riders are supported with our well-marked course, chip timing, fully supported rest stops with medical assistance available, and SAG wagons.

Date: Saturday, September 9th, 2023 (Rain or Shine)
Time: Mandatory ride meeting at start line at 7:55 am for 45.5 mile ride. Ride starts at 8:00 am.
Mandatory ride meeting at start line at 8:25am for 27 mile ride. Ride starts at 8:30 am.
Fees: $60 until 8/6/23. $70 until 9/3/23. $80 on race day.
Packet Pickup: Registration packet pickup is race morning from 6:00-7:30 am. Early packet pickup will be available on Friday from 5:00-7:00 pm at the start/finish at REEB Ranch Farm; I.D. Required
Amenities: Timing with Category Results & Awards for the Top 3 in these categories: 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59 and 60 plus. Time clock, awesome rest stops with medical assistance available (if needed), SAG Wagons, Well Marked Route, Restrooms and so much more. You must be present to receive your award.
Camping is available both Friday and Saturday nights. Food will be for sale after event.
Required Gear: All riders must wear a secure helmet at all times during the race.
Rest Stops: There are 2 rest stops on the 45.5 mile course and 1 on the 27 mile course. Rest stops are stocked with H₂O, Energy Drinks, Coke and Sprite, and assorted snacks, fruit, PB&J sandwiches, and lots of encouragement from our rest stop personnel!
T Shirts: T-shirts are an option to all participants pre-registered by August 13th, 2023.
Directions: Race start/finish is in front at the REEB Ranch in Hendersonville, NC. From the intersection of Highway 280, Highway 64, and 276 in Pisgah Forest, head about 3.5 miles south on Highway 64 to a right on Crab Creek Road at the traffic light. Follow Crab Creek for 4.5 miles to a right on Shoal Falls Road into the REEB Ranch.

Blue Ridge Adventures Racing

Blue Ridge Adventures is a grassroots race production company based in Pisgah Forest, NC. Company founder Todd Branham has been racing mountain bikes for over three decades, and organizing endurance events since 1998. Starting with just 40 entrants at the inaugural Off Road Assault on Mount Mitchell, Blue Ridge Adventures now runs eight premier endurance events. Pisgah has developed a growing and well-earned reputation for quality singletrack woven into the tallest and most rugged mountains this side of the Mississippi. Branham utilizes his experience as a professional trail builder in understanding the flow of the terrain to lay out courses that deliver a unique euphoric race experience.
