VENUE:
The race will start and finish at Glen Maury Park in Buena Vista, Virginia.
GEAR CHOICE:
Both course options present a lot of elevation and climbing. Come with lots of climbing gear options. This event is a GRAVEL EVENT. You probably will not have fun racing it on a road bike, and we would highly advise against it! The race itself is 20% or less of road. Gravel, Cyclocross, & Mountain bikes are the go to for this event. You'll want some wider tires, especially for the Stoked 60 route. Forst service roads come in all shapes and sizes. The last thing you'll want to do is come with a 25c tire and rim brakes.
CAMPING:
Tent and RV hookup available for purchase through Glen Maury Park. First come first serve. Typically there are a few open RV locations. Details available on the "Your Stay" page for Gravista.
**There is unlimited Tent Camping throughout the Park. The best locations to tent camp are by the river on the lower area or at the top of the park near the double decker building. Gravista participants camping fee is $25.

gravel with a view

Virginia’s Blue Ridge is Beautiful and painful all at once. The Climbs are unrelenting but the views are worth every pedal stroke. Depending on the distance, you’ll climb approximately 100 feet of elevation for every one mile. In our book, that’s tough but there will be glory, food, and plenty of beverages at the finish line for you!
A GPS device is required to route navigation.
There is often no cell service on the Course.
Download the course you’ll be riding to your GPS device before you arrive at the Park and be sure to bring up the route before the race start!

My name is Cynthia Carson and I am from Virginia! I found my love for the mountains while attending James Madison University. I started riding a time trial bike took to unpaved roads on all types of bikes. After racing competitively on the road for several years, I got into the gravel game and tackled some of the biggest Gravel races around the US. In 2019 I decided it was time to show off my home turf around the Blue Ridge Mountains. I have raced my fair share of gravel and have pinpointed the good, bad, and things to shred on for Gravista. I'm excited to put on a race around the roads I spent my time training on. The views are endless... and so is the climbing! Can't wait to show you around!
