Water Spring at Mile 20
Aid Station at the Farm Crossing Mile 26
Aid Station at the Atwood Lake Park mile 40.5
We’ll Marshall you out the gravel Lane and head towards downtown Magnolia. Once we get through the traffic light, the race will start. You’ll do a short small climb up to state Rt 183 and turn right. From there, we’ll have ½ mile flat straight away to the first GRAVEL section. I’ll continue to stay in front in a car, and lead out to the first GRAVEL section. You’ll enter a through Cyclocross gates with ribbon to a doubletrack GRAVEL climb. This will eventually drop down into the sand and Gravel pit area, and then funnel into the abandoned towpath. At the end of the towpath you’ll take a hard right, and head towards the equestrian park. Once turning into the equestrian park gravel/dirt road, you’ll navigate all the way back until it dead ends into grass section, and then turns left up a challenging narrow path. This eventually leads you out to your first GRAVEL road, and starts heading to Lake Mohawk.
LAKE MOHAWK
Just before Mohawk, you’ll navigate a cool doubletrack gravel lane around a private property, which is actually a school for special needs kids. They’re excited to have our route go through the property. I’ll have information if anyone cares to donate to their cause!!
Once you enter Mohawk, you’ll have a 1.8 mile pavement section following West Mohawk drive, which turns into East Mohawk dr. You’ll veer onto Sequoya trail for a short climb, and then turn off onto a technical Dirt/Gravel trail. PLEASE be advised, this trail has a short steep downhill, that needs to be ridden slow, or even walked if you’re newer to the sport. After the short trail section, You’ll start climbing King Rd Gravel, and be off onto Mix Gravel roads until a short jog through the neighborhood of Dellroy. Shortly after Dellroy, You’ll navigate to the Big Farm Crossing, and the first AID station at mile 26.
ATWOOD LAKE
We’ll be Crossing through the Atwood Lake PAVED walking path. It is very scenic and unique. PLEASE USE CAUTION through this section, as it does present some technical turns on GRAVEL. Signs are indicating when to slow down and be ready for S-curves and using grass corners to eliminate 90 degree turns on GRAVEL.
After Atwood, You’ll climb back into Gravel country, and work your way back to Magnolia and then finish behind the nursey on the gravel lanes through the Evergreens.
PLEASE SAVE MY NUMBER, and USE IT IF NEEDED!
