80 MILES - THE RACE
Virginia State Gravel Championship · 2 Laps · ~7,500'
Go all in. Two laps of the Unravel loop and the Virginia State Championship on the line.
The 80 is the competitive side of Unravel: approximately 80 miles of mixed-surface riding and roughly 7,500 feet of climbing, starting and finishing at Bryce Resort.

40 MILES - THE ADVENTURE
1 Full Lap · ~3,750'
All the character of Unravel packed into one lap. Big enough to feel epic without requiring you to question every decision that led you here.
Race it. Ride it. Stop looking at your computer and enjoy the scenery. This one is yours.

20 MILES - THE FUN RIDE
Short Course · ~1,750'
New to gravel? Riding with friends? Just looking for a ridiculously good day on a bike?
The 20 takes a shorter bite out of the Unravel course with real gravel, real climbing and plenty of Shenandoah scenery.
No racing required.
Start: 11:00 AM
THE COURSE
Unravel starts and finishes at Bryce Resort in Basye, Virginia and heads into the gravel roads, backroads and hills of Shenandoah County.
The 40-mile Adventure completes one full Unravel loop with approximately 3,750 feet of climbing.
The 80-mile Championship does it twice.
The 20-mile Fun Ride follows a shorter portion of the Unravel course before heading back to Bryce.
Course distances and details may change slightly as final plans are coordinated with the resort and local partners.

Registration gets more expensive the longer you wait. Funny how that works.
$37.80 — Early Bird through August 31
$45 — through September 6
$55 — through September 13

$80 — race day / walk-on
Race-day registration: $80 · Cash, Venmo or check.
USA CYCLING + STATE CHAMPIONSHIP
You DO NOT need a USA Cycling license to participate in the 40-mile Adventure or 20-mile Fun Ride.
The Virginia State Gravel Championship title is awarded through the 80-mile event and is open to eligible Virginia residents holding an annual USA Cycling license.
80-Mile Podiums
The 80-mile race will recognize:

• Overall race podiums — based on actual race-day finishing order.
• Virginia State Championship podiums — based on eligible Virginia residents holding the required annual USAC license.
• Virginia State Championship jerseys are awarded to eligible championship winners in the 80-mile event.
