About this event

The Gunni Grinder is a epic and very challenging 120 race/ride the starts and finishes in downtown Gunnison, CO. The course follows some of Gunnison County's most challenging, remote and scenic gravel and dirt roads. If you don't have the miles but still want a challenge, The Gunni 60 (ish) and Gunni 30 will give riders a taste of what gravel riding in Gunnison County is all about. This is the 4th annual Gunni Grinder.

120 mi · 85% gravel · $130 entry

The course utilizes a single loop-format. Although some paved roads are necessary, the vast majority (about 83%) of the course will be on gravel and dirt roads. Some of these roads receive little to no maintenance and can change drastically after heavy rains and/or snowfall. Riders are encouraged to be fully prepared for any and all conditions. The route is remote therefore will include signage to help prevent riders from getting off course.

Race Revolutions

Joel an accomplished mountain bike and road racer, racing for over twenty years and competing in events such as the Trans Alp Challenge, La Ruta de los Conquistadores, the Leadville 100, Trans Andes Challenge, and also winning the two-man division of the 24-hrs of Adrenaline at the National Championships in 2001. Joel has also raced in the Tour of the Gila thirteen times with multiple top five GC finishes and individual stage wins. Joel has served on the board of directors at Please BE KIND to Cyclist, The Friendship Alliance, an the Fieldstone Property Owner's Association. Joel is also a founding member of the Texas Off Road Multi Sport Association (TORMSA).
