About this event

So OG that it started as a mountain bike race, The Wild Horse is back and still the rowdiest ride in the West.
The Wild Horse takes riders on a gravel stroll around the Cedar Mountain Wilderness Study Area in Tooele, Co., UT along the ancient Lake Bonneville Bench. Riders will face chunk, sand, beautiful dirt, and, if they're lucky, large piles of wild horse poop. Join us on your analog or ebikes and stretch, shake, rattle, and roll those early-season legs!

Routes

The Little Horse

35 mi · ↗ 1,884 ft · 100% gravel · $60 entry

Short but sweet and salty!

Half the fat and all the fun of the Big Horse. Instead of shooting down south, the Little Horse takes you north toward the 4x4 roads and hills near Aragonite. Still need big tires. If you want to bring your ebike out to play, this is the route.

Event organizer

Salty & Stupid Cycling, LLC

Salty and Stupid Cycling started in January 2020 with a dream: to host kissing booths, choirs, and arena concerts throughout the West. Flash forward one month, and they founded two of Utah's most beloved gravel races instead. The century Salty Lizard 100 and the double century Stupid Pony take riders on magical journeys through Utah's most underrated landscapes. The fondo-length Wild Horse, given to Salty & Stupid in 2022, completes a trifecta of tough, inclusive, accessible, and jaw-droppingly chunky and beautiful rides. Salty & Stupid partners with local nonprofits to promote healthy recreation and conservation throughout rural Northern Utah. And, best of all, they don't have a single proven fatality!
