About this event

The Tour of Central Iowa is multi-distance, multi-surface bicycle event that takes place in beautiful rural south central Iowa. Most racers will choose to tackle the 100K, or 200K gravel races as a solo endeavor. For those wanting a shorter distance or on a tighter time schedule, a 40 mile route option will also be available.

A select few will take on the ultimate challenge of the Mann Powered 380, honoring Joe Mann. Joe was a fellow Iowan, an avid endurance cyclist, and dear friend who was taken from the lives of those who loved and knew him far too soon. This 380 mile route starts early Saturday morning, and will include both paved roads and gravel roads. You can choose to race with a support crew that can meet you at designated support locations, or race self-supported, randonneur style. Both categories will have a 38 hour time limit.

The Mann Powered 380 is an official RAAM Qualifying event, and anyone finishing within the time limit will be recognized as a RAAM Qualifier.

The start and finish location, in Cumming, Iowa, is just a few minutes from the Des Moines Metro area. There are a number of hotel and camping options just minutes away via I-35. A limited amount of free tent camping will be available in the town of Cumming the night before the event.

Relentless Events, LLC is made up of Sarah Cooper, Steve Fuller and Dori Jansma. All three have deep ties to the Iowa cycling community, as well as the Midwest gravel scene. Relentless Events is behind a number of Iowa based gravel events – Iowa Wind and Rock, Iowa Gravel Classic, The Tour of Central Iowa, and Spotted Horse Gravel Ultra. We love the state of Iowa and our local community, and we make an effort to involve local and in-state businesses with our events as much as possible, including hosting, event goodies, and prizing. In addition to races, Relentless Events is also responsible for supplying safe bike valet services at many large events in the Des Moines Metro. Our goal is to give people the opportunity to push beyond what they have done on a bicycle, and have fun while doing so.
