Experience the beauty of the turning of the leaves while riding pristine gravel in the Lahti and Salpausselkä UNESCO Geopark region. The area offers scenic wide gravel roads a good amount of forest roads spiced up with more challenging trails totalling 95% of dirt and offroad sections.

Falling Leaves Lahti has become the traditional closing event of the Finnish (gravel) cycling season. Part of the 2024 NGS calendar for the 5th consecutive season we welcome you to a set of exciting routes. Distances of 50, 100, 145 and 180km. The 180km is the official Gravel Earth Series (long) distance. In addition you can also opt for a 300km 2 day option with overnight. This event welcomes riders from all levels and fitness. Gravel, mtb, hybrid and e-bikes are allowed at the event. 

Warmup ride on Friday, post-ride buffet, lake sauna and swim and the NGS season closing party are all part of the package. Accommodation in Pajulahti, double or single rooms at NGS price, can be booked here. Limited availability.

In addition to our existing one day routes there is a XL 2 days route option for 2024. Two days of fully supported riding, with a comfortable overnight, covering over 300km of pristine gravel roads. On Saturday you will be joining the other FLL riders on the 145km course into the Salpausselkä Geopark region. At the Pajulahti finish a post-ride dinner, lakeside sauna with swim and the FLL party await. By registering for the 300km event you automatically participate in the Gravel Earth Series 145km distance and classification on Saturday. Nordic Gravel Series

Our FLL long distance route offering a great variaty of terrain and scenery. Quality hardpack gravel, forest roads spiced up with a few singletracks. No minute long climbs but do not underestimate the rolling terrain.

The views offer everything the UNESCO Salpausselkä Geopark is known for. Experience the coloring of the leaves in beautiful forests and along scenic lakes.

180km - GES distance

Gravel Earth Series Race Distance

Our FLL Gravel Earth Series 180km route offers a great variaty of terrain and scenery and is the official Gravel Earth Series race distance. Quality hardpack gravel and rolling forest roads spiced up with singletrack sections. A true Nordics race course on rolling terrain. 2000 ascending meters.

The views offer everything the Salpausselkä Geopark is known for. Experience the coloring of the leaves in beautiful forests and along scenic lakes.

300km - 2 day option

300 km · ↗ 3,500 m · 90% gravel · $320 entry

Nordic Gravel Series

In addition to our existing routes for Falling Leaves Lahti, we offer a unique XL 2 days route option for 2024. Two days of fully supported riding, with a comfortable overnight, covering over 300km of pristine gravel roads. Hosted in the beautiful autumn scenery of southern Finland and the UNESCO Salpausselkä Geopark region.

On day one the route will take you south towards the old harbour town of Loviisa. Turning northeast on your return, wide open scenic gravel roads and forest roads await before arrival in Pajulahti for the night.
Day two takes you north from Pajulahti, along winding roads and forests into the Päjänne region. You will be joining the other FLL riders on the 145km course into the rolling hills of the Salpausselkä Geopark region. At the Pajulahti finish a post-ride dinner, a lakeside sauna with swim and the FLL party await. 

By participating in the 300km event you automatically participate in the Gravel Earth Series 145km distance and classification on Saturday.

The XL route 2 day option is limited to 50 participants. 

Registration includes
  • Route (gpx download) and route support. Marked route on day 2.
  • 3 food & drink stops with sports nutrition per day

  • Overnight stay Pajulahti on Friday including breakfast (double or single room)
  • Friday buffet
