About this event
The Bovine Classic Gravel Ride
October 25, 2025 • Atascadero, CA
Join us for America's 4th-Hardest, Cow-Themed Gravel Ride... in a California Wine Region... That's Not Called Napa or Sonoma.
The Bovine Classic isn't just another gravel event -- it's a celebration where serious cycling meets unserious fun in the stunning Paso Robles wine country. With three routes catering to different adventure levels (The Big Bovine, The Feisty, and The Happy Bovine), you'll experience a perfect mix of dusty backroads and buttery smooth tarmac.
Recently named one of Bicycling Magazine's top-10 "Must-Ride Gravel Races for 2025," the Bovine Classic combines world-class riding with radical hospitality. Expect fully supported routes, creative aid stations, local wines, craft beers, and a festival atmosphere that'll have you planning your return before you've finished your post-ride celebration.
Schedule
10/23/25: Pre-Ride, Special Winemaker Vineyard Supper at Royal Nonesuch Wines
10/24/25: Pre-Ride, Packet Pick-Up Festival
10/25/25: Event Day. Post-ride party with food, drinks, live band, podium awards
Other Details
Limited to 675 riders
Routes: 25-95 miles
Mixed surface terrain (dirt, tarmac, single-track)
Recommended tire width: 38-42c
