About this event

In August 2024, a group of 64 international cyclists will be the first ever to cycle across Greenland. We call it Coast to Coast 2024. Greenland, the world's largest island, is located between the Arctic and Atlantic oceans and 80% is covered by up to 3000 meter thick ice.

To ride your bike the 550 km across this huge Ice cap, is really the "Tour de Ice". We will use 7 to 9 days og this epic event.

Crossing of the Ice cap of Greenland has been done many times, but only on skis. The first time was by Fridtjof Nansen in 1888, the organizer was the youngest ever when he was crossing in 1984.

Even on skis, crossing Greenland it an epic adventure and a hard and tough one, and everyone who meets the challenge is a winner.

Nobody have so fare succeeded in crossing Greenland on bikes. (only 3 have tried) The first 42 km is an old gravel road, the rest ius snow and ice.

I have been working on location like Spitsbergen, Norwegian Army and for the Norwegian Polarinstitutt. I was also the project leader for the "Fritdjof Nansen Commamorative race across Greenland in the 1990`s
